Gov. Beshear To Richmond Commissioner: "Shame On You"

https://www.richmond.ky.us/

“Shame on you.”

Those were the words Governor Andy Beshear had Friday afternoon for those who attended a pro-Trump rally in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

The Governor’s harsh remarks were in response to concerns about Richmond City Commissioner Krystin Arnold’s attendance at the rally just hours before a violent mob invaded the U.S. capitol, killing a capitol police officer. Four others also died in the riot.

Beshear said any elected official challenging the lawful election of the president is concerning.

“Anybody who was at that rally, turned riot, turned domestic terror attack, even if they weren’t part of the second two, needs to really rethink their values. That was not American. It was anti-American,” said Beshear.

Arnold posted a selfie from the rally on social media and claims she left the event before the violence erupted.

Mayor Robert Blythe and the full commission are scheduled to discuss Arnold’s participation at the rally at their meeting Tuesday.
