Membership Coordinator

We are looking for someone with fundraising, membership, donor database and nonprofit experience. Job duties:

Maintain Fundraising CRM database and ensure timely processing and maintenance of gifts. Also follows up with all sustaining donors whose payment methods have changed or been declines in a timely manner; Coordinates with other campus departments to ensure the prompt delivery of daily deposits and to generate regular reports related to donations and sustaining donors; Coordinates the pledge drive call center to ensure proper scheduling, information distribution, inventory levels, and provide escalated customer service for callers; Assists the Membership Director with maintaining contact with donors and listeners by providing quality control for all weekly acknowledgement letters and other related correspondence and mailing lists.

Position open until filled.

News Director

Job Description:

WEKU is seeking a News Director to lead a team of six staffers covering issues critical to Central and Eastern Kentucky.  WEKU serves Lexington as well as the Eastern half of Kentucky with 9 broadcast transmitters and digital platforms.  Our goal is to be the primary news source for Central and Eastern Kentucky.  WEKU is a strong public radio service with visionary leadership and a positive and affirming station culture that values diversity, achievement and buy-in for public radio’s mission.  The News Director will be a key part of WEKU’s growing leadership team.

Overview:

The successful candidate will have a background that includes reporting, newscast producing and on-air newscasting/hosting. Previous supervisory and leadership experience preferred. Solid editing skills and editorial judgement required, as is the organizational ability to anticipate and manage workflow, coordinate staff and free-lance reporters, and train and work with volunteers and interns.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • History of initiative reporting on a wide range of topics
  • Superior writing and communication skills
  • Efficient production capabilities
  • A good working knowledge of Kentucky is preferred
  • An understanding of public radio’s mission
  • Ability to embrace and appreciate a culture of continuous improvement and achievement
