Governance Meetings
WEKU is owned and operated by Eastern Kentucky University. As a university department, we are governed by the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents. Meetings are held quarterly on the EKU campus in Richmond, KY.

Dates, times, and locations of stated meetings of the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents are included in the public notice of meetings as prescribed by Kentucky’s Open Meetings Act which permits Regents to discuss certain subjects in a closed or executive meeting if notice is given in the regular meeting of the general nature of the business to be discussed, and the agency cites the specific exemption authorizing the closed session. A closed session may be held only after a motion is made and carried in an open session, and no final action may be taken in a closed session. More information on closed session requirements is on pages 22-23 of Kentucky’s Open Meetings Act.
Such public notices of stated meetings, agendas, prior minutes and executive sessions are available at the EKU Board of Regents website.
The Office of University General Counsel is responsible for public notices of board meetings, executive sessions and closed meetings notices and documentation.
If closed meeting documentation is prepared, it will be made available within 10 days of the closed meeting. To request closed meeting documentation or any other Regents-related information, contact the EKU Board of Regents.

The majority of WEKU's funding comes from individual listener contributions. Financial support also comes from local corporate and community sponsors, Eastern Kentucky University, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), foundations and other miscellaneous sources.
