Appalachian Regional Health’s new mobile health clinic will hit the road next week. ARH’s Brie Cox said after the 2022 floods, the company applied for a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission, which was co-chaired by Governor Andy Beshear. Cox said the clinic will be stationed in Floyd County and have a broad range.
“All of ARH's 25 counties in both eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia. And we also will take it to other events, natural disasters and activities across the entire commonwealth.”
Beshear helped cut the ribbon for the mobile clinic at the state capitol Friday. Cox said the $416,000 grant was matched by $100,000 from the company for employees. She said the mobile clinic will offer a wide range of health care in their 25-county service area.
“Everything from immunizations, sports, physicals, annual wellness visits, employee biometrics, emergency care after floods or tornadoes, women's health services, pretty much anything you can get in a clinic you can also enjoy in the mobile clinic.”
Cox said the mobile clinic doesn’t have radiology services, but they plan to equip it with an ultrasound machine.
