EKU Travels To Cardinal Stadium This Weekend

Eastern Kentucky University’s football team takes on the University of Louisville Saturday night in Cardinal Stadium.  Eastern comes into the game following a convincing 53 -7 win over Valparaiso, while U of L dropped its home opener to Notre Dame 35 - 17.

Colonels’ running backc had 128 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns Saturday.  Although Louisville is a Power Five conference team, Booth believes EKU can hold its own in the contest.

“Really confident for sure.  We practice a lot.  We practice hard.  We’re a well overall team, so I think we’re really confident about the game,” noted Booth.

Louisville went 2-10 last season.  Eastern Head Coach Mark Elder said during the weekly Monday news conference he looks for new Cardinal head coach Scott Satterfield to have his team fully ready for EKU.

“This is a team that won a bunch of games two years ago.  A lot of the guys that are playing tonight and on Saturday were a part of that team.  I’m certain he’s going to have them playing their best football and it’s going to be a major challenge,” said Elder.

Elder said his team is excited for the opportunity, and ready to roll.  Kickoff Saturday is set for 7 p.m.
