31 acts scheduled for Richmond's Jubilo Festival

The Jubilo Music & Arts Festival takes place Sept. 13 - 16, 2012 at Ft. Boonesborough State Park

31 bands and individual performers take the stage next week for the first ever Jubilo Music and Arts Festival. John Hingsbergen spoke with the event's director.

About three years ago, five friends started getting together every week to ponder the state of education and the issues facing young people today. Robyn Baker, who’s now the Director of Jubilo, says the group of women came up with the idea of a music festival to raise money to help students in Eastern Kentucky.

The festival begins next Thursday and continues through Sunday at Fort Boonesborough State Park, outside Richmond.

Just some of the groups and artists performing for the first Jubilo Music and Arts Festival are: Moon Taxi, Unknown Hinson, Darrel Scott, Big Leg Emma, The Mojos, The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers, Coralie and the Townies and, the group we’re hearing right now, Bonepony.

There’s a complete listing of the 31 acts and other information about the festival, that begins Thursday at the Boonesborough State Park online at: Jubilo Festival dot com.
