The Kentucky Attorney General’s office found no credible law violations during the state’s last general election.
State law requires the Attorney General to randomly select 12 counties to be investigated following each election.
The office’s Department of Criminal Investigations selected Barren, Boyle, Calloway, Campbell, Daviess, Edmonson, Jefferson, Jessamine, Lincoln, Metcalfe, Trigg and Warren.
More than 700 complaints were sent to the AG’s election fraud hotline during the general election. Around half of those messages were sent on Election Day.
Most of those came from Jefferson County, amid reports that some voting machines were freezing and delays with voter check-ins.
A letter from the Attorney General to the state Board of Elections says short staffing and Internet connectivity could have contributed to those delays, and no criminal wrongdoing was found.
