Amber Spradlin was found stabbed to death in the home of a Floyd County dentist in June 2023.

A trial date is set for the three men charged in the 2023 murder of a Floyd County woman. Michael McKinney III faces murder and complicity charges, while his father, Michael McKinney II, and Josh Mullins are accused of other crimes. Their trial begins December 1st in Pike County. Amber Spradlin was found stabbed multiple times at McKinney II’s home. Debbie Hall is her cousin.

“In a month, it will be two years that she was murdered. So, you know, there's the end in sight. People say, ‘Well, December, that's a long layoff,’ but compared to the time that we've been waiting, that won't be nothing.”

McKinney II is charged with seven counts of complicity to tampering with physical evidence. Mullins also faces complicity charges. Hall said she doesn’t mind that the December 1st trial will take place in Pike County.

“We've got strong support from all of our friends and even strangers and everybody. Everybody's just really excited to finally see a trial date and to know that that looks like we're going to get some kind of justice.”

The special judge in the case ordered that no groups be allowed to demonstrate within 25 feet of the Pike County Judicial Center.
