Russell Armstead, the executive director of Lexington's Veterans Affairs Healthcare, will be accompanied by several VA specialists at a town hall meeting in London Aug. 7.

Lexington’s Veterans Affairs Healthcare will hold a town hall Wednesday, August 7 at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 66 in London. Becky Thomas, their interim public affairs officer, said DAV 66 is a great partner.

“They actually serve as one of our telehealth hubs. So down there, there are two rooms where veterans can come in and see their providers virtually.”

Thomas said their PACT Act coordinator and other specialists will accompany Executive Director Russell Armstead for the two-hour town hall.

“Our suicide prevention, veterans experience, care in the community, women's health, our military to VA program, they will all be there standing by to help the director with the Q and A portion, but also they can meet one on one with folks and talk about whatever their needs are.”

The town hall is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon. Thomas said their series of town halls will continue on a quarterly basis. The Lexington VA has clinics in Morehead, Somerset, Hazard and Berea.
