While the specifics of the latest effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act are being debated in Washington, members of a grassroots advocacy group took to the streets of Lexington.
About two dozen members of Together We Will Bluegrass waved signs at passing cars in the city’s Triangle Park on Friday.
One of the organizers of the protest, Julie Martinez says it’s important for people to know that the stakes for Kentucky are high.
“We believe it is not fair to Kentuckians it doesn’t take into account the actual healthcare needs of people in this state. So we want to come out today and let our voices be heard and let people in Lexington know that there is a problem with this and we should all be engaged in this process.”
