Barry Saturday, 43, of Lexington, was arrested Tuesday and charged with a felony and three misdemeanors for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 attack on the capitol.

A Lexington man who lost two bids for a seat on the urban county council faces four federal charges for his alleged role in the January 6th attack on the capitol. Barry Saturday was arrested Tuesday. A statement from the U.S. Marshal’s Office said he was identified in videos taken at the capitol that day, when a mob of supporters for then-President Trump stormed the capitol. More than 1-thousand people have been arrested in the sprawling investigation, which is ongoing. Saturday faces a felony charge of civil disorder and misdemeanor charges of knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a capitol building and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds. The D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office said Saturday twice joined in a “heave-ho” push against police in a tunnel leading to the capitol.
