WEKU has won four regional Edward R Murrow awards for journalism excellence.
The 2026 Murrow award winners were announced Thursday afternoon by the Radio Television Digital News Association.
WEKU was awarded Best Digital Story for a Northern Kentucky Secretive Data Center by Shepherd Snyder; Excellence in Writing for the Stable Recovery Program by Sam Dick; Best Podcast for a Drumming Program that Helps those with Parkinson's Disease by Cheri Lawson; and Best Sports Reporting for a story on Kentucky Square Dance Clubs by Cheri Lawson.
WEKU Director & General Manager Mike Savage says he is proud of the solid reporting being done at WEKU. "It's really an honor to work with such talented journalists. These awards are a well-deserved recognition for a hard-working team of journalists."
WEKU is in Region 8, which includes stations in Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
