A Frankfort distillery still feeling the impact of April’s Kentucky River flood is holding an online fundraiser to benefit other flood victims – and those hurt by the May 16 tornado. Buffalo Trace spokesman Cory McCauley said “Pour it forward for Kentucky” features an auction and sweepstakes, with all proceeds going to relief efforts.

“Total funds raised will be evenly split and will go towards the Red Cross, and that's going to be used for flood relief and also tornado relief. And then we will take the other portion, and that'll go to the Franklin County flood relief fund.”

McCauley said company officials consider the tornado-stricken communities as an extension of the Buffalo Trace family.

“Our new Buffalo Trace warehouses for aging, those barrels are actually located in London, not too far from where the tornado hit. And then we also have our cooperage that makes all of our barrels is located in Somerset.”

“Pour it forward for Kentucky” continues until June 5 at 10 a.m.
