Kentucky is providing one time, 120 dollar payments to children in need of food for the summer season.

The Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program is meant to help families provide meals to their children while school is out of session. Around 450,000 students aged from six to 18 years old are eligible.

Around 80 percent of those students have been automatically enrolled, and their families can expect payments by the end of June.

Students not automatically enrolled but attend schools with the National School Lunch Program and live in a household at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty line can also apply. The window to sign up is between June 25 to August 15.

More information, including on how to apply, is available here, or by calling 855-306-8959.
