More than 9,000 Kentucky electric customers are still without electricity as of Monday morning as a result of Friday's storms. But several inches of heavy, wet snow has also knocked out power to more than 6,000 electric customers - primarily in Central Kentucky - on Monday morning. Among the storm-related outages, Kentucky Power/AEP has the largest number of customer outages: Floyd County, 223; Johnson County, 809; Lawrence County, 685; Magoffin 1,235; and Morgan, 1,260. According to a Public Service Commission press release, the restoration estimates vary by county. Some will be fully restored on Monday but the hardest-hit areas - Magoffin and Morgan - may be completed by Friday or Saturday.
The Licking Valley RECC has an estimated 4,000 customers without power. Those customers are mainly in Magoffin and Morgan counties, the PSC said.
Owen Electric has 529 outages as of Monday morning. They include 124 in Campbell County; 155 in Kenton and 249 in Pendleton County.
Monday's snow has caused additional electrical outages.
Kentucky Utilities has 6,203. They include 2,650 in Scott County; 2,100 in Franklin County; 785 in Woodford; 360 in Fayette and scattered outages elsewhere.
LG&E has 248 outages. They include 197 in Jefferson and 51 in Oldham.
Clark Energy has 362 in Bourbon; 839 in Clark; 478 in Menifee and 569 in Montgomery.
