Hurricane Helene

Nearly 200 Kentucky co-op employees are currently working to restore power in the Carolinas and Georgia. Other contract crews that normally work at the co-ops have also been sent to help.

The Kentucky Blood Center says they’re in need of donations after Hurricane Helene caused a string of blood drive cancellations last Friday and Saturday.

Officials with Lexington’s biggest power company, Kentucky Utilities, say nearly everyone in Fayette County has had power restored following the remnants of Hurricane Helene last Friday.

Residents of eastern and central Kentucky are experiencing scattered power outages as the remnants of Hurricane Helene travel north.
