E-K-U and E-I-U in a Key Matchup

It’s coming to the stretch drive in many college football leagues.  That’s certainly the case in the Ohio Valley Conference.    Eastern Kentucky University hosts Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon.  Both teams come into the OVC contest with only one loss in the league.  E-K-U head coach Dean Hood says no one team holds an advantage right now.“I don’t see we’re in first, I see there are four teams with one loss.  You’ve got to play every single week, because you get that second loss, you know, can you still win it, maybe.  But, your chances are really down,” said Hood.

First year E-I-U head coach, Dino Babers and his Panthers are still looking for their first road win this season.

“You want to step out of the phone booth and say Hey, we’re a good football team.  Nobody’s gonna listen to you until you win on the road,” said Babers.

The two other OVC teams with only one loss are Tennessee State and UT Martin.  The Eastern Kentucky-Eastern Illinois game kicks off at noon at Roy Kidd Stadium.
