Grants Announced For Eastern Kentucky Utility, Economic Develpment And Tourism Projects

A number of eastern Kentucky projects related to utilities, economic development, and tourism are expecting to see some grant funding.  These dollars affect projects in four different counties.

More than $700,000 is headed to Breathitt County to construct a visitor center at the South Fork Elk View Campground.  Hazard Troublesome Creek Environmental Authority will use more than a half million dollars for the Drone Port Water and Sewer Collection project.  It serves both Perry and Knott counties. 

Wayne County will see almost $154,000 to acquire a 25 acre tract to develop the industrial park.  And Hindman will have access to almost $139,000 for the Appalachian Artisan Center of Kentucky to support various programs including those for recovery from substance abuse. 

Federal dollars from the Appalachian Regional Commission come through the state Department for Local Government.?
