Kentucky Senate Leader On Tax Reform In 2020

The chairperson of the Kentucky Senate Budget Committee said tax reform could move forward next year.

But, he said, it won't be easy.

Chris McDaniel was asked Tuesday night about prospects of changing the state’s tax structure.  The question came at a time when Gov Matt Bevin and Attorney General Andy Beshear were neck-and-neck as votes came in.  McDaniel said a Beshear administration might create some challenges.

“The fact is we’re constitutionally bound to work together and we’ll figure something out.  We won’t have near as much common ground, that’s for sure, but that’s alright.  That’s why we have elections, voters give us our direction, they give us our marching orders and we’ll figure out the best relationship we can,” said McDaniel.

McDaniel and 37 other state senators along with 100 members of the Kentucky House of Representatives return to Frankfort Jan. 7 for the 2020 general assembly session?.
