6th District Congressman Andy Barr Says Trump's Phone Conversation Appropriate

congress.gov

Kentucky GOP Congressman Andy Barr sees no cause for concern when it comes to a July phone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky.

After reading over an account of the call, Congressman Barr said he believes Trump’s inquiry pertained to investigating any interference in the 2016 election and not the 2020 presidential race and Joe Biden.

“And I do not for the life of me understand what the problem is with this conversation,” said Barr.

Barr, in his fourth term representing central Kentucky, sees the impeachment inquiry as setting a precedent of politicizing national security communications between allies.  Democrats says the president crossed a line by pressuring a foreign leader to investigate a political rival.
