EKU Joins Growing List of Universities Canceling In Person Classes

EKU

Eastern Kentucky University has joined the growing list of schools that are reevaluating in person classes as the coronavirus progresses in Kentucky. A statement from EKU Interim President David McFaddin late Wednesday afternoon announced that the school will be transitioning to online coursework beginning March 23rd, through April 3rd.

Students are asked not to return to campus after spring break, which has been extended through Friday, March 20th. Students who would otherwise not have other accommodations will be permitted to return to their dorms. Staff are asked to work as normal.

Like other schools canceling in person classes, EKU officials will be tracking the coronavirus as they approach returning to campus April 3rd. At this time, officials are hopeful that this action will allow course finals and commencement in May to occur as planned.
