Application Deadline For Federal Flood Assistance Drawing Near

Corinne Boyer

Kentuckians impacted by the late winter-early spring flooding now have less than two weeks to apply for assistance.

Homeowners, renters, and business owners in eligible central and eastern Kentucky counties have until July 23rd to register for federal help.   It’s for property damage or loss during the flooding from February 27th to March 14th

Thirty-one Kentucky counties are included in the Kentucky federal disaster declaration.  Residents in the designated counties can apply, update contact information, ask questions, or appeal a Federal Emergency Management Agency decision.  That can be done by going online to DisasterAssistance.gov.

For residents in Owsley County, they can go to their local library for application assistance.
