Ribbon Cut for Renovated Lodge at Jenny Wiley Park

wymt.com

Kentucky officials cut the ribbon  Wednesday on a $1.7 million renovated lodge at Prestonburg’s Jenny Wiley State Park.

State park officials hope to see an increase in conference and tourism activity this summer.

A fire in the spring of 2016 closed the main lodge building, which included the park restaurant and lounge.

Although it remained open to visitors and overnight guests, the restaurant moved to the conference center.

With the re-opening of the main lodge, Kentucky Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet Spokesman Gil Lawson says the conference center can again be used for its intended purpose of hosting meetings.

The renovations include a new lounge, new furniture, wall covering, flooring, windows, and kitchen equipment.?
