Here’s a message from listener Dave, who tells us he enjoys the station, especially while exercising every day, but he has a suggestion for announcers, “Ask your people to quit saying ‘First ever.’ First means it never happened before. ‘First ever’ means you don’t know what the word first means.” 

This call came from Lee, from Lexington,  with advice for those having difficulty receiving station signals, especially those in or near Hazard, “It is possible that you may be able to switch your receiving equipment from ‘stereo’ to ‘mono’ and decrease the interference below audibility. On old-style equipment with mechanical switches, it’s easy. Switch the switch from ‘stereo’ to ‘mono,’ if there is one.”

Lee continues, “On new equipment, there will be, if there is one, a little button that you click that might be labeled ‘FM Mode’ or ‘MPX mode’ or ‘auto/manual.  Pressing it once will switch from ‘stereo’ to ‘mono’ and the other time from ‘mono’ to ‘stereo.”

On our website at WEKU.fm, a story headlined, Bill Aimed at Toughening Ky. Dog Fighting Law Wins Unanimous House Approval, received a couple of comments.  A website visitor identifying as “Flower,” wrote, “Hunters dump 100's of dogs at the shelter every year after they have used them. They always put their 2 cents in don't they? “

From Barbara, “I hope all compassionate people in Kentucky call their Senator and ask him to vote for the dogs!.”
