Lexington city council members were briefed Tuesday on a downtown development described as a mix of private retail and university-managed innovation and e-sports space. E-sports is a form of competition using video games.
University of Kentucky Executive Director for Strategic Analysis and Policy Melody Flowers offered the update to the budget committee
“Very much intend to be inviting the community in, focusing on economic development, entrepreneurship, design thinking, solution finding efforts.”
The project, scheduled to open in August of next year, is being built along Winslow Street. The development will also include a garage with 23 hundred parking spaces.
