Madison County Juneteenth Freedom 5K (Richmond-Madison NAACP, Baptist Health Richmond, Saint Joseph Berea)
The second annual JUNETEENTH FREEDOM 5K will take place on June 15, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. at White Hall State Historic Park to raise funds for local charities. This event will offer both a 5K run/walk and a ONE-mile fun run/walk with overall and age group awards. Advanced registration is encouraged. Gates open to the public on race day at 6:45 a.m., with race day packet pick-up starting at 7 a.m. Early packet pick-up is encouraged on Thursday and Friday at the Madison County Public Library’s Richmond location.
The event is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to participate in the Juneteenth Freedom 5K. All individuals at all levels of participation are welcome: running, walking, strolling, and rolling. Even a VIRTUAL option is available. The Juneteenth Freedom 5K is hosted by the Richmond Madison County Branch of the NAACP with key support provided from the two hospitals in Madison County: Baptist Health Richmond and Saint Joseph Berea as Presenting Sponsors of the event. In addition to recognizing the significance of the Juneteenth holiday and promoting healthy activity, event hosts and sponsors seek to give back to the local community.
