WEKU wins four Excellence in Broadcasting Awards

KBA

WEKU was honored with four Excellence in Broadcasting Awards. The Kentucky Broadcasters Association awarded WEKU first place for Overall Digital Presence, Special Program or Feature, Broadcast Leadership Award, and Best On-Air Personality. The KBA held its awards ceremony at its annual Conference in Owensboro Sunday evening.

WEKU Director & General Manager Mike Savage says the recognition from the KBA is special. "WEKU is winning awards, competing against the largest markets and stations in the Commonwealth. I'm proud of the station and staff for these honors."

The KBA awards come after WEKU received four prestigious Edward R Murrow Awards for journalism excellence in July.

Mike Savage joined WEKU in 2018 as Director & General Manager. He has worked in public radio for 30 years and has managed public radio stations in Georgia, Illinois and Indiana. In his current role as WEKU Director & General Manager, Mike directs station operations, programming, news and fundraising.
