Governor Beshear has launched a “Pre-K for All” initiative. This aims to advance the commonwealth’s public education system and job growth.

The governor emphasized that Pre-K for All is a nonpartisan issue, noting that 18 states – including Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, and West Virginia – offer pre-K access for all 4-year-olds.

Sam Flynn has been chosen to lead the initiative. During a press conference, he announced that five town halls will be held across Kentucky where the public can get involved.

“First town hall will be held here in Frankfort Kentucky at the Transportation Cabinet Auditorium. The next four will be held across the commonwealth at Northern Kentucky University, Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Morehead State University, and finally at the Kentucky State Fair.”

He said they will host a series of town hall meetings, as well as other ways for the public to learn more.

“Over the course of the summer, we'll be also hosting committee meetings. They will be public Zoom meetings, where all members of the public can join and hear from experts about business, education, workforce development, and child-care as it relates to the state of child care in Kentucky.”

Flynn said the first town hall meeting will take place June 25th at the Transportation Cabinet Auditorium in Frankfort.
