Flood Waters in Floyd County Kentucky

Flooding is a threat in much of Kentucky, including areas ravaged by the historic floods of 2022. Sunday morning, Floyd County Emergency Management Director Brian White said there’d been lots of rescues, but no deaths or injuries in his county.

“Some mayors have actually issued declarations evacuating some localized towns and stuff, and we got, like, law enforcement out, helping mitigate the process and all this and that to get people up to higher ground that'll leave their residence that’s in danger right now,” White said.

White said the flooding also took down trees and power lines. At least one person has been confirmed dead in Clay County.
