WEKU enhances its online streaming services

Public radio station 88.9 WEKU has installed new broadcast equipment to offer the highest quality audio streaming experience for its news and classical channels.

The station’s Director and General Manager Mike Savage says the upgrades will provide listeners who tune in at weku.org and the WEKU mobile app a vastly improved listening experience.

“Thanks to growing listener support, we invested in streaming equipment that allows WEKU News and Classical streams to broadcast news, information and music programming in ultra-high fidelity and clarity.”

Savage says the professional sound audio equipment elevates the sound of WEKU’s streaming channels to be among the best sounding in the nation.

WEKU broadcasts distinct news and classical channels at www.weku.org and the WEKU Mobile app available for Apple and Android phones. WEKU is based at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond and broadcasts its main channel of news and information on nine transmitters across Central and Eastern Kentucky including WEKU 88.9 FM serving Richmond and Lexington.
