Today is Juneteenth, this is the third year it has been recognized as a federal holiday in the United States. Celebrations have been underway throughout the city of Lexington for the past week. Stan Ingold and Shepherd Snyder collected these sounds of Juneteenth in this audio postcard.

Stan Ingold is WEKU's former News Director. He left the station in April, 2026.
Shepherd joined WEKU in June 2023 as a staff reporter. He most recently worked for West Virginia Public Broadcasting as General Assignment Reporter. In that role, he collected interviews and captured photos in the northern region of West Virginia. Shepherd holds a master’s degree in Digital Marketing Communication and a bachelor’s in music from West Virginia University.
