Wife of Slain Somerset Attorney Speaks Out

The Advocate Messenger

The wife of slain defense attorney Mark Stanziano spoke out Friday following the cold-blooded murder of her husband.

The Advocate Messenger reports that Attorney Mark Stanziano, was making his way to his office on West Mount Vernon Street around 8 a.m. Friday when an angry gunman walked up to him and shot him multiple times, killing him in front of a slew of witnesses.

Stanziano represented the preacher charged with the triple murder at Danville’s ABC Gold Games.

The attorney’s wife, Bethany Stanziano is herself a defense attorney who shared a practice with her husband.   In a statement Friday she said, “Today I lost my best friend. His four daughters lost their father. Three grandchildren lost their grandfather. Aside from that, the legal community lost a great mentor and a great teacher.

In a news conference, Somerset Police spokesman Capt. Shannon Smith said Clinton David Inabnitt, 40, was arrested and charged in the murder of Stanziano. Inabnitt is being held without bond at the Pulaski County Detention Center.

A Pulaski County sheriff’s detective and several other people witnessed Inabnitt fire seven rounds at Stanziano from a distance of 15 feet, hitting him multiple times.
