A Lexington youth choir showcasing different worldwide cultures is holding its second-annual winter concert. Shepherd Snyder has more.

That comes alongside a nationwide trend of school systems cutting arts programs because of budget cuts or shrinking school enrollment.

The event is co-organized by the Richmond-Madison County Branch of the NAACP and the Richmond Area Arts Council. It’s meant to recognize African American performers across generations and genres, from local choirs to world-traveled jazz musicians.
