The testimony from public university presidents has centered on worries about high pension costs. But following his
St. Amand says the Kentucky Council for Postsecondary Education request to lawmakers included about $15 million to address funding inequity and performance funding. The NKU president says it’s not an unreasonable request, even in the current budget climate. “Higher education is that one area where it’s producing the talent that drives the market for jobs and talent,” said St. Amand.
Bowling Green Representative Jody Richards says legislators should include sufficient funds in the final budget so universities don’t experience a six and a quarter percent cut.
