Attorney: Kentucky Resolves Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

The Lane Report

Kentucky's legislative leaders have resolved a sexual harassment lawsuit involving a former Democratic lawmaker and three state workers.

Thomas Clay, the attorney for Yolanda Costner, Cassaundra Cooper and Nicole Cusic said the case has been resolved to the satisfaction of the parties. He declined to elaborate.

Costner is a former aide to House Majority Whip Johnny Bell. Cooper still works for Bell while Cusic is a nonpartisan employee in the state Senate. The trio filed a sexual harassment lawsuit alleging former Democratic state Rep. John Arnold touched them inappropriately and that the Legislative Research Commission did not do enough to protect them. Arnold was later fined $3,000 by the Legislative Branch Ethics Commission. He has appealed the fine.

A spokesman for the Legislative Research Commission did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
