ekusports.com

Eastern Kentucky University officials report ten people involved in athletics have tested positive for COVID-19.  It’s in addition to six other cases reported in early July.

EKU Vice President and Athletics Director Matt Roan confirms four student athletes and six athletics staff members have tested positive for coronavirus.  This comes after approximately 150 additional tests were conducted within the past two weeks.

In a statement, Roan said the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff continue to be our primary concern.  The affected individuals were isolated and the school’s administration worked with the Madison County Health Department on contact tracing.  The statement goes on to say the spaces where the individuals were located received a deep cleaning in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

The athletics department reported earlier this month that three student athletes and three staff members had tested positive for coronavirus.?
