Plans Are For Fans In The Stands At EKU Football Games

ekusports.com

Eastern Kentucky University Athletics Director Matt Roan says plans are being made for fall football.  The athletics program announced this week the start times for four of the five home games in September, October, and November.

Roan says exactly how the competition will take place remains up in the air. “At this point in time I absolutely expect college football to start and I think around the country my peers would say the same thing.  They expect it to start.  Now does it look differently, that’s another question,” said Roan.

At this time, Roan says he anticipates fans will be in the stands for EKU home football games. The athletics director admits it may be with half or third capacity in Roy Kidd Stadium.  Roan says it could even involve fans sitting six feet apart in the football complex.  Roan says all this could change, depending upon the state of the virus in September.  He says full use of the upper deck in Roy Kidd Stadium is also possible.    The Colonels are scheduled to open their home football campaign September fifth against Western Carolina.

Eastern Athletics Director Matt Roan says it's not a definite fans will be cheering at Colonel home games, but that's the intent now:
