EKU Records Its First Win Of The Season and First For Head Coach Samantha Williams

Stu Johnson

The Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball team opened the regular season last night with a win against Northern Kentucky University.

It was also the first victory for new EKU Head Coach Sam Williams, who came to Richmond after a successful assistant coaching tenure at the University of Louisville.  The Colonels had balanced scoring in their 69-62 win over the Norse.  Eastern won two games during the entire season last year.

Eastern travels to Memphis Saturday for an afternoon game. NKU takes on St. Louis at home next Tuesday.
