Eastern Kentucky University Director of Athletics Mark Sandy is stepping down from his current post to take a similar position at Ball State University.
According to a news release, Sandy, who was in his 10th season at EKU, will begin his duties as Ball State’s Director of Intercollegiate Athletics on February 1.
Sandy joined the Richmond school in May of 2005. During his tenure, the Colonels have won 34 OVC team championships, including two titles this school year in men’s and women’s cross country.
Current Associate Athletics Director, Dan McBride will serve as Acting Director of Athletics beginning February 1.
A search committee has been formed to help identify Sandy’s successor.
