Andy Barr Wins Fifth Term In Congress

Sixth District Congressman Andy Barr easily maintained his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.  With most of the votes counted, the Lexington lawmaker held a 17% lead over his primary opponent democrat Josh Hicks.

Following his victory speech, Barr said comments offered by many democrats in his congressional chamber don’t sound like democrats in this central Kentucky district.

He said people in Kentucky tend to be conservative in their mindset. “They love this country.  They’re patriotic.  They support law enforcement.  They support our troops.  They support standing for the national anthem,” said Barr.

Barr said his margin of victory in this congressional race was much larger than that of two years ago when he won by about three percent over Amy McGrath.
