Fayette County Clerk's Office Closed To Walk-In Traffic Until Mid-Summer

The Fayette County Clerk’s office will remain closed to walk-in visitors until at least July sixth.  The decision comes as workers in the Lexington office gear up for a June primary vote.

Fayette County Clerk Don Blevins says most county clerk offices will need to stay closed to the public until after the Presidential Primary election on June 23rd.  Blevins says it’s important not to risk a staff member contracting the virus and forcing a quarantine of all or part of an office.  He says that could jeopardize the ability to support and conduct the election.

Blevins says core staff will continue to support mail and online transactions and to prepare and conduct the June Primary.  Fayette County residents can continue to register to vote or update their addresses by submitting a new registration form either online or by mail.  The deadline is May 26th.?
