Correspondent Jason Jones of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart challenged Kentucky lawmaker Damon Thayer, R-Georgetown, in a segment Wednesday night titled "Can't Touch This." Jones interviewed Thayer about his plan to nullify federal laws in Kentucky because Kentuckians rejected President Barack Obama in the 2008 and 2012 elections. Even after Jones pointed out that Thayer's plan is unconstitutional, Thayer persisted. Then Jones brought in LaRue County Judge Executive Tommy Turner, who told Jones that he and others had introduced a bill that would nullify Thayer's nullification law. The segment also contained a spot that was shot at the Chevy Chase Inn in Lexington, where Jones interviewed patrons about what laws should be nullified. Read more...
