Severe Weather Tuesday

National Weather Service

The storms that are hitting central and southern Kentucky Tuesday morning are not the end of the heavy weather expected for the region today and tonight.

The National Weather Service said the storms, which pack lightning, hail, and high winds, have produced upwards of one to two inches of rain since midnight, resulting in some localized flooding.

After a brief dry period in the afternoon, a final wave of showers and storms will move into the area later this evening and into the overnight period. Winds and hail will once again be possible along with localized flash flooding issues.
