A traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial exhibit is visiting Paducah next week.

'The Wall That Heals' features a three-quarter scale replica of the memorial in Washington, D.C.

The free exhibit is a chevron-shaped wall featuring the engraved names of men and women who lost their lives in Vietnam.

Organizational committee member Mary Beth Orr said that she thinks the memorial will bring honor and education to the Paducah area.

"There are over 58,000 names on the wall and a lot include very young men that fought in the war," Orr said. "And I don't think the public is aware of what they went through, unfortunately."

The Wall That Heals also includes a mobile educational center with letters, memorabilia and photos of service members. LED lighting will enable The Wall to be viewed and read at night.

The exhibit is on display at Carson Park October 25th through the 28th and will be open 24 hours a day.
