WEKU will broadcast five Lexington Philharmonic concerts on 88.9 WEKU and WEKU Classical.
The broadcasts will include two performances from Lexphil's 2025/2026 season and three performances from the upcoming 2026/2027 season.
“For decades, this orchestra has been part of the cultural life of our community and state, and these broadcasts allow us to share the extraordinary work of our musicians with listeners throughout the region who may not otherwise be able to hear,” said Brooke Raby, Executive Director of the Lexington Philharmonic. “Our partnership with WEKU has enabled us to reach hundreds of thousands over the past twenty-plus years.”
WEKU Executive Director Mike Savage says the station is proud of its long-running partnership with Lexphil. "The Lexington Philharmonic is an important arts institution in Central Kentucky. We are pleased to be able to broadcast select LexPhil performances to Lexington, Central and Eastern Kentucky audiences."
The first broadcast is the 2025/2026 season finale, American Stories, September 13th at 8 p.m. on 88.9 WEKU and Wednesday, September 16th at 8 p.m. on WEKU Classical.
