Kentucky Christian University is entering an agreement that will help hopeful pharmacists in eastern Kentucky get their degrees.
They’ll be entering a Memorandum of Understanding with Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia for students interested in a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
That agreement would give KCU students preferential treatment to transfer to the school, after completing a list of required courses. That includes classes in general biology, organic chemistry and calculus. They’ll also be getting a $2,000 tuition discount.
A release from Kentucky Christian says the school hopes the partnership bolsters the Appalachian region’s healthcare workforce, and addresses the need for qualified pharmacists.
