Nonprofit art organizations throughout Kentucky are getting a combined total of $1.2 million in grant money from the Kentucky Arts Council.

This year, 107 organizations received funding.

The organization's website says the goal of the Kentucky Arts Partnership grant is to develop strong arts organizations statewide and make them more accessible to the public.

This year’s round of funding was announced during Governor Andy Beshear’s regular media briefing Thursday. He said last year’s round of funding helped present around 3.7 million unique art experiences statewide, and secured $81 million in more funding.

The application deadline for next year’s round of funding is February 15.
