Bardstown Expecting Barrel-fuls Of Visitors

Bardstown, KY rolls out the barrels and the welcome mat for its twentieth annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival. Executive Director Linda Harrison says the event is a mixed concoction of Kentucky's famous spirit and Bardstown's hospitality. "When you have fifty-thousand people there, I'd say they become a part of Bardstown."Visitors will have the opportunity to sample premium bourbon and mingle around Bardstown's historical landmarks such as My Old Kentucky Home and the Courthouse Square. But Harrison says the activities aren't limited to adults and adult beverages.

"There's arts and crafts in the booths on the lawn, music and entertainment, so we're looking forward to a fabulous six days."

Harrison anticipates this year's festival will draw nearly 50,000 visitors from inside and outside the Commonwealth. The festival runs through Sunday in Nelson County.
