The University of Kentucky Opera Theatre is bringing a new production to the Lexington Opera House: A Nation of Others. It’s a one-act world premiere set at Ellis Island in 1921, telling stories of people arriving in America in search of a better life. Tom Martin spoke with UK Opera Director Dr. Everett McCorvey about the work, the history behind it, and what he hopes audiences will take from it.

Tom Martin hosts Eastern Standard, a weekly radio magazine of interviews and stories about interesting people, places, and things happening in the Commonwealth.
