Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain, and Rain All Possible Early This Week

Corinne Boyer

Another round of Winter weather is moving into Kentucky this week.  It is expected to begin with ice and snow for some locations in the Commonwealth.

The central Kentucky region is in the bullseye for snow accumulation today, possibly several inches in some sections of the state.  Meanwhile, not that far to the east and south, it’s expected that freezing rain will make a return visit. In far southern Kentucky, it may be more of mainly a rain event.

Still the prospects of complications on roadways and with electrical service are real.  Kentucky Electric Cooperatives says winter weather could result in significant power outages because it follows last week’s ice accumulation, some of which is still hanging around on trees.
